Dale Munson, as CPC’s founder and Chief Executive Officer, has responsibilities as a manager and decision-maker for the day-to-day operations of CPC. More importantly, Mr. Munson has assembled a talented team of professionals with great integrity and skillsets in multi-faceted areas. He utilizes this team to draw recommendations, insights, advice and direction to ensure decisions are well informed and reflect the best possible outcomes for the direction of the company.
Mr. Munson has more than 20 years of experience in a broad array of disciplines including investments, lending, finance, and business management. He applies his comprehensive understanding of investment allocation to the construction and management of CPC’s investment portfolios. Mr. Munson is well versed in the intricacies of land acquisition and development, having served as the principal manager of a land acquisition company and as the owner of several other land projects. Mr. Munson has also spent several years consulting on various development projects throughout the Mountain West.
Mr. Munson has a thorough understanding of the financial industry and has held an array of securities, brokerage and insurance licenses. In the past 20 years, he has provided comprehensive financial services in many facets of personal and corporate financial planning. In fusing his knowledge of investments and loans with his knowledge of investment regulations and compliance, Mr. Munson ensures CPC products meet and exceed the strict compliance standards in a demanding regulatory environment.
Mr. Munson is a graduate from Utah State University and is an active member of the business and social community, volunteering his time for various non-profit organizations including acting as Chairman of Avalon Hills Eating Disorder Foundation and Chairman of New Horizons Maritime Center.Email ×
Kellen Jones, as the Chief Operations Officer, is responsible for creating, communicating, executing, and sustaining all primary operations within CPC. Mr. Jones is responsible for critical jobs such as advising on company product development and internal lending procedures, ensuring a healthy loan pipeline, meeting company loan objectives, and bringing new strategic initiatives to the company. Mr. Jones’ ability to tap into his creativity, strategic ability and management skills have impacted lending modalities from streamlining private lending systems, placement of funds, and effectiveness of exit strategies.
Mr. Jones’ broad array of experience includes a depth of knowledge in land development, commercial and residential properties, retail leasing, raw land, and several other non-conventional assets. Over the past decade Mr. Jones has managed a $150 million collateral disposition team and played a pivotal role in the implementation of over $750 million in private loan transactions. Mr. Jones was appointed to serve on the American Association of Private Lenders Ethics Advisory Committee through 2017.
Mr. Jones is also the president and co-founder of Fundingdatabase.com, a leading private loan placement service for many types of finance. Mr. Jones received his BS from Southern Utah University. He is a frequent presenter and advisor at mortgage strategy seminars, Utah Business Week, and is the recipient of the FBLA Business Law and Marketing Award. Additionally Mr. Jones has won literary, arts, and business competitions and accolades throughout the region.
Mr. Jones is involved in the business and social community by volunteering his time extensively for various organizations including Utah Business Week, the Salt Lake Homeless Shelter, and the Boy Scouts of America.Email ×
Chris Matthews, as Chief Credit Officer, provides aggregate loan portfolio review on a continual basis including an analysis on all loans, detection of deterioration in loan quality, identification of problem loans, and the disposition of real estate assets.
Mr. Matthews has over 25 years of operational and lending experience and has held major leadership roles with a number of private and institutional real estate investment firms including GMAC, CBRE, Equitable, RM Crowe, Broe Companies, Aclaime, and SK Hart. Mr. Matthews has participated in the sale, leasing, and financing of over $2 billion of investment real estate. Portfolios managed by Mr. Matthews have included retail, office, hospitality, industrial, multi family, senior housing and medical offices. Additionally, Mr. Matthews has strong international experience having spent four years working in Japan and establishing two funds with investors from the Middle East and England.
Mr. Matthews is a frequent participant on industry panels and authored an asset management textbook for BOMI. He received an MBA and BS in Finance from the University of Utah. Benson Miller, as the General Legal Counsel, offers CPC his expertise in securities law including private placement memoranda and offering circulars under various federal exemptions from securities registration (Regulation D and Regulation A). Mr. Miller is instrumental in maintaining CPC’s product security compliance in a challenging and ever changing landscape of securities regulation.
Mr. Miller is intricately involved in all aspects of CPC’s core product of real estate lending transactions. Through significant exposure to a vast array of legal real estate matters across the United States, Mr. Miller has gained a variety of skills in commercial and land financing, land development, project analysis, construction loans, commercial and residential development, and complex purchase and sales of real property.
Mr. Miller was a principal of the law firm of Miller, Reay & Associates, PLLC, which has offices in Salt Lake City and Sandy, Utah. Through this endeavor Mr. Miller represented both landlords and tenants in commercial, industrial and retail leases, lessors and lessees in ground lease transactions, and investors and developers in the offering and structuring of corporations and limited liability companies.
Mr. Miller conducted his undergraduate studies at Southern Utah University where he was named Business Student of the Year, and completed law school at University of Utah where he graduated with Order of the Coif and High Honors.
Mr. Miller is an active member of the business and social community by volunteering his time as a soccer coach and participating in various non-profit sponsored events. Mr. Miller also provides pro bono legal services to those that are disadvantaged, without resources, or in need.Email ×
Luke Loveland, as Project Administrator, works closely with borrowers to ensure their construction projects move along smoothly and funds are provided as planned. He also ensures that projects necessary to loan exits are finished on time and on budget. Additionally, Mr. Loveland is instrumental to project specific tasks, stabilization and disposition of assets, and project reporting. He is also involved in many facets of the loan process by collecting information necessary to complete a loan file. Mr. Loveland maintains an extensive network and positive working relationships with realtors, property managers, landlords, tenants, and insurance companies.
Prior to this position, Mr. Loveland served as an Account Executive for a private loan servicing company in Utah. He acquired skills and experience in managing lender expectations while gaining an in-depth knowledge of lending companies through his involvement in broker lending, residential, commercial, and other land interests. Early in his career, Mr. Loveland worked as a loan officer where he originated over $50 million in residential and investment property conventional loans.
Mr. Loveland is an active volunteer in the community and spends time coaching youth basketball programs and participating in various non-profit sponsored events.Email ×
Heather Garvoille, as an Associate Accountant, works within our accounting department to provide financial information to CPC management by researching and analyzing accounting data and reports. She documents financial transactions, coordinates activities involving finances within the company, and creates reports that help CPC make reliable business decisions. She also prepares payments, verifies documentation, and helps investors when they request disbursements. Ms. Garvoille maintains investor confidence and protects the integrity of CPC operations by keeping financial information confidential and exact. Her attention to detail makes her a valuable member of our team.
Prior to this position Ms. Garvoille spent 10 years in an array of disciplines. During this time she gained skills in customer service, sales, management, accounting, organization, and time management.
Ms. Garvoille’s drive to succeed has helped her to achieve her Associate of Science in Accounting. Her goal is to continue her education and eventually earn a master’s degree in both Business and Accounting.Email ×
Elizabeth Passey, as Legal Assistant, is intricately involved across a broad spectrum of CPC’s core business of real estate lending. Ms. Passey assists in the research of individual state lender laws, document preparation, document review, title review, due diligence collection, and loan review. She also works closely with our legal counsel in researching securities law and maintaining ongoing security compliance for CPC.
Ms. Passey has experience in landlord-tenant law through various internships while obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies. Her study of business law and contracts allows her to edit with precision and accuracy. Ms. Passey’s in-depth research skills, organizational and time management skills, persistence, integrity, and attention to detail make her a good fit for our office.
Ms. Passey participates and volunteers in various political organizations and local city government elections here in Utah. She is an avid University of Utah fan and volunteers at the annual University of Utah "Bleed Red" blood drive twice a year. Ms. Passey also volunteers at her local ASPCA animal shelter.Email ×
Shauna Nemelka provides support to the CEO and other executives by managing day-to-day operations. She is responsible for organizing and maintaining files and records, planning and scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing reports and other documents. Ms. Nemelka also conducts research on behalf of staff members and oversees various company projects. She represents the company by welcoming visitors, reviewing correspondence, and arranging corporate functions.
Prior to joining CPC, Ms. Nemelka worked in Portland, Oregon for an event planning firm as a designer and lead coordinator. After moving to Utah she continued as an event manager for a Utah based wedding firm and was also the executive assistant to the company president. Through designing and executing large scale events, Ms. Nemelka acquired skills in organization, communication, and project management, which are a crucial part of her role at CPC.
Ms. Nemelka graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Social Science and a minor in Psychology from Portland State University.Email ×
Justin Mellor, as Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for the oversight and implementation of all aspects of CPC’s internal finance and accounting. Mr. Mellor is instrumental in developing accounting processes and policies to improve internal efficiencies, ensuring preparation for annual audits, maintaining GIPS compliance, and ensuring strict ongoing GAAP compliant accounting.
Mr. Mellor is well qualified as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), and Principal of Mellor and Associates, PLLC. Previously Mr. Mellor (with Mellor and Associates) independently completed the financial statement audit and GIPS verification report for Cache Private Capital Diversified Fund, LLC (cumulatively through 12/31/2013). As such, he has an intimate knowledge of CPC’s core business fundamentals, accounting principles, and requirements to maintain strict accounting principles.
Mr. Mellor received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accountancy from Brigham Young University and spent his first five professional years as an auditor and senior advisor at Tanner LLC before branching out on his own in 2010. Mr. Mellor and his associates are passionate in providing individuals and businesses with transparent financial accounting.Email ×
Nick Madsen, Senior Accountant, works closely with the Associate Accountant and CFO in ensuring the accuracy of the financial records. Mr. Madsen is a Certified Public Accountant whose past experience includes three years as an auditor at a regional CPA firm and as senior accountant of a privately held company with revenues of $300 million.
Mr. Madsen is a member of the AICPA and enjoys volunteering in his local community and church.Email ×
